Transnational sonic stupidity collective FUDGY presents “The Now End of the Universe,” a journey of escape when there’s nowhere else to go, a 14-year musical victory by the forces of chuckling wildness over those too fearful to live.

Long-form exploration without all that wankery, shorthand exculpatory evidence in the trial of artistic taste. In short, a truly from-the-heart goof.

Hear: 30 “songs” in 90 “minutes” spread across two vinyl LPs, conceptually recorded and played in concept by artists/comrades from Milwaukee, Buffalo, Seattle, Los Angeles and Minneapolis. Absorb: lyrical topics such as frustrating grocery lists and the Buddhist “wisdom of no escape”; heart-broken regional strongmen and celebrating bands of Thugs; an attempt at stylistically broadening polka and a presentation of boundless forgiveness.
